A fishermen of the Lofoten Islands, Norway, hanging fish out to dry on long poles, where they remain for two months, before being packaged for export. The islands featured in a spread in The Illustrated London News in March 1941, following a successful raid by British naval and military forces on German objectives in this area during World War Two
