Sir Norman Bishop Hartnell (1901-1979) British couturier and favourite fashion design of the Queen and Queen Mother, seen greeting another royal patron, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester (1901-2004), whose wedding dress he designed, at a reception of fashion buyers from overseas held at the Mansion House in the City of London in 1955.
