An ambulance dog supplied by Major Edwin Richardson, the renowned dog trainer to the Russian army during the Russo-Japanese war in 1904. The top photographs show Richardson giving the dog a message, barking to attract attention to stretcher bearers and on sentry duty at an outpost.
