The Sketch featuring in the film Cage of Gold

Actor David Farrar, playing the part of Bill in the Ealing Studio film Cage of Gold stands by a newspaper kiosk in one scene, reading a copy of The Sketch magazine. The Sketch, which ran from 1893 to 1958 was a weekly magazine dedicated to news of the arts, celebrities, social happenings, royalty, illustration and sport. It was part of the Illustrated London News group and the complete run is housed here at Mary Evans Picture Library as part of the ILN archive
