Victory Ball at the Albert Hall, end of WW1
Prominent members of society and notable personalities, pictured in fancy dress at the famous Victory Ball, held at the Royal Albert Hall in November 1918 to celebrate the end of the First World War. Top photograph shows, from left to right, Colonel Haddo, unknown, Lady Diana Manners (later Cooper, dressed as Britannia), Sir John Lavery, Lady (Hazel) Lavery and General Brancker. Along the bottom from left to right is Lady Mainwaring and Captain Straker of the Irish Guards, Lady Lisburne (formerly Regina de Bittencourt in a particularly flamboyant headdress), Count Raben-Levetzau, attached to the Danish Legation in London, and Mrs Montague
