Zena Dare working at the front during WW1
Mrs Maurice Brett, formerly the theatre and music hall star, Zena Dare pictured waiting on soldiers in a cellar at the front while she was working in France during the First World War. She married the Hon. Maurice Brett, second son of Viscount Esher in 1911. Zena Dare (1887-1975) the English actress was born Florence Hariette Zena Dones. Together with her sister, Phyllis, she was one of the great popular stage actresses of the early 20th century. She retired from the stage on her marriage
