Madame Henriette Caillaux, wife of finance minister Joseph Caillaux, who in 1914 shot Gaston Calmette, editor of Le Figaro for attacking Caillaux's private life. The case was a sensation and reported in all the newspapers but the event was soon eclipsed by the outbreak of the First World War
