Scipio Africanus
Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus generously betrothes his youngest daughter, Cornelia Africana Minor, to Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus, the Elder, probably in gratitude for defending him from public attacks from his enemies. She was only five at the time, but eventually married Gracchus at the age of about 18. They had twelve children, of whom only three survived to adulthood, and she became known as the mother of the Gracchi
