Floating Bridge

Floating Bridge, Sandbanks, Poole. The foot ferry was superceded by this steam-powered chain ferry in 1926 (saving 15 miles miles off the road journey round the harbour). The steam ferry was built by J. Samuel White of Cowes at a cost of 12, 000 and remained in service until 1958
