Hansel and Gretel
Hansel and Gretel are the young children of a poor woodcutter, unable to support his family. His second wife decides to take the children deep into the forest to fend for themselves. Having overheard the plan, Hansel goes out to gather as many white pebbles as he can in order to lay a trail back home from the forest. His plan worked and the children returned home to the wife's dismay'. From a series of postcards published in Germany
