Toshusai Sharaku, Awabi Fishers (detail). Sharaku was a Japanese ukiyo-e print designer, known for his portraits of kabuki actors. Neither his true name nor the dates of his birth or death are known. This right-hand wing of the famous triptych of the Awabi Fishers shows a diver wringing out her wet skirt and a woman with an awabi in her hand
