Canonisation of St Seraphim of Sarov, Russia, which took place between 15 and 20 July 1903, attended by Tsar Nicholas II. Here the saint's remains are carried past the Assumption Cathedral in Sarovsk, with the Tsar as one of the pallbearers, along with Princes Sergei Alexandrovich and Nikolai Nikolaevich the younger. Devotion to St Seraphim was strong within the imperial family
