Delhi Durbar 1911
King George V and Queen Mary at the Delhi Durbar on 12 December 1911, held to celebrate the King's accession. There had been Durbars before in 1877 and 1903 but this one was on a monumental scale. The King wrote to his mother, The Durbar yesterday was the most wonderful and beautiful sight I have seen and one I shall remember all my life
