Kaiser Friedrich III

Portrait of Kaiser Friedrich III (1831-1888), known as Fritz'. He married Queen Victoria's eldest daughter Vicky, the Princess Royal, in 1858 but did not succeed to the Prussian throne until March 1888 by which time he was suffering from throat cancer. A liberal, and consequently a political outcast, Fritz's reign lasted only ninety-eight days
