Prince Carol and Princess Helen of Romania
Crown Prince Carol of Romania, later King Carol II, with his fiancee Princess Helen of Greece in 1921. When they married, Carol already had a chequered past, which included a secret marriage to a Romanian girl, Joana Lambrino, in 1919. His decision to marry Helen came as a surprise to the family and unsurprisingly, the union was not a happy one
