Princess Margarita of Greece (1905-1981) and Prince Gottfried of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1897-1960)in 1931, the year of their marriage. The couple were cousins: Margarita was the daughter of Princess Alice of Battenburg and great-granddaughter of Princess Alice. Gottfried was the son of Princess Alexandra of Edinburgh, third daughter of Prince Alfred. Margarita is an elder sister of the current Duke of Edinburgh
