The accident to the SS Tyndareus, February 6th 1917. The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel John Ward, MP, officers and men of the 25th Battalion, the Middlesex Regiment, are shown on deck moments after the 11, 000 ton troopship struck a mine laid by the German raider Wolf, off Cape Agulhas (about 108 miles south-east of Cape Town).
