Basilique d'Albert. Marcel Augis (Pseudonym Of H. Dupont). There Were A Number Of First World War French And Belgian Artists, Including Marcel Augis, That Trod The Battlefields Of The Western Front During The Great War 1914-1918. They Recorded The Devastation Of The Battlefields And The Areas That Contained Allied Troops. Many Of These Etchings/Aquatints Would Have Been Sold To Soldiers Returning Home After The War Or Subsequently Purchased On The Many Battlefield Remembrance Tours That Took Place In The 1920S And 1930S
