Sergeant Charles Edward Brown, 6th Service Battalion

A photograph of 11526 Sergeant Charles Edward Brown, 6th Service Battalion (Pioneers), East Yorkshire Regiment, together with his wife, Leonora Kathleen Newman. Brown was born on the 6th September 1885 at 1 Melrose, Winton, Holdenhurst, Dorset. Brown was killed in action on the 25th August 1915 whilst with the 11th Division, which was to capture Hill W from the Azmak Dere Sector. The photograph is contained in the Alliance Souvenir Faithful to the Empire card (Registered Design 4523-08), published by Scopes and Co. Ltd. London, EC. Together with Brown's Commemorative Scroll and letter from King George V.. Commemorative Art
