Identified by the photographer as being taken at Alport in the Peak District of Derbyshire, the woman is named as E. Bramwell, believed to be Ellen Bramwell, daughter of a local postmistress near Bakewell. The man is George Barnshaw, an employee at Battersby's hat factory in Stockport where the photogrpaher was a director
