Edwardian group
Edwardian group in the garden of Strathclyde, Offerton Road, Stockport. Standing with his sister and brothers is James Johnson Battersby who survived the Lusitania sinking ten years later. The seated older couple are the hat manufacturer William Battersbyand his wife Mary. Even for a group photograph taken by a family member it seems hats were almost obligatory, and note the enormous decorative key adorning Mrs Allpegarth, seated front right
