Elegant Edwardian couple with child outside house
A photograph of James Johnson Battersby and his wife Nancy (nee Nidd) on the steps of their house Dunluce in the Davenport area of Stockport. The child is James Larratt Battersby, their son. The photograph is dated 1909, and a few years later James Johnson Battersby was a passenger on the Lusitania when it was sunk off Ireland in 1917. He survived
