A worker tightening bolts on a complex piece of pipework at the Bottesford pre-yield depot. In 1969, Laing Pipelines established their pre-yield depot at Bottesford Airfield near Grantham. Large diameter steel pipes for gas feeder mains could be tested at the depot to yield under hydraulic pressure and there was also a large corrugated steel fabrication shop
