APSLEY HOUSE, London. Dessert plate from the Duke of Wellington's Saxon Service, made at Meissen in 1818. This was a gift to the Duke from the King of Saxony, and depict the battles he won during his military career. Here shown is the Battle of Albuera (16th May 1811) during the Peninsular War.
