Doolittle Windmill, Bedfordshire
DOOLITTLE WINDMILL, Totternhoe, Bedfordshire. A tower mill built in about 1820 for the processing of cereals. The mill ceased to be operated by wind-power in 1868 and an engine was installed. The mill was also powered by water at various times in its history. It closed in 1921. Photographed by Herbert Edward Sidney Simmons c.1930's
