Exterior staircase, Strawberry Hill House, SW London
A detailed view of an exterior staircase in the garden of Strawberry Hill House, showing the wrought iron vine and leaf patterned panel underneath the balustrade. An exterior view of Strawberry Hill, built between 1749 and 1776 by Horace Walpole. The south and east facades are the principle view and are stuccoed. The staircase is situated outside of a two storey section added by Lady Waldegrave on the left side of the east range of the house. This section surrounds the base of the circular tower, completed in 1759, which houses the kitchens and Round Room Tudor windows
