A worker carrying out guniting (spraying concrete) on the Southern gas pipeline.This gas pipeline was installed by the Southern region of O C Summers Ltd, part of the Laing group of companies, who specialised in laying and maintaining underground pipes. The concrete coated section of pipe shown in the photograph was probably about to be pulled across the Fishbourne Estuary, as recorded in the Laing monthly newsletter Team Spirit, published in October 1984
