A view of the old Lambeth Bridge from the east - The first Lambeth Bridge was a suspension bridge which opened in 1862, however problems with its safety and structure resulted in the bridge being closed to vehicular traffic in 1910. The bridge was demolished in the late 1920s and was subsequently replaced in 1932
