Llyn Ogwen lies near the summit of the Nant Ffrancon Pass, which begins at Bethesda in Gwynedd. According to legend, following King Arthur's final battle Sir Bedivere cast Excalibur into Llyn Ogwen, where it was caught by the Lady of the Lake
