Roche Abbey
Roche Abbey, Maltby, South Yorkshire. An aerial view of the ruins from the south west. This Cistercian Abbey was founded in 1147, but was plundered for building material after it was surrendered to the Crown in 1538. Only the walls of the chancel and transepts at the east end remain. Photographed in July 1999
