Ross Street, Devonport, City of Plymouth, City of Plymouth
A group of dignitaries stood outside the 2000th post-war Easiform dwelling in Plymouth on its ceremonial opening day, with a crowd of people in the foreground who have gathered to watch. The 2, 000th Easiform dwelling in Plymouth was a ground floor flat in a three-storey block of flats on Ross Street. The Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Alderman Sir J. Clifford Tozer, ceremonially opened the flat after it was officially handed over by Sir William Kirby Laing to the Chairman of the Housing Committee. According to the November 1953 edition of the company's newsletter Team Spirit, 2603 of the 7107 post-war houses constructed in Plymouth for the City Council were built by Laing, of which 2000 were in Easiform construction
