Van Mildert College, Durham University
A general view of Van Mildert College, one of Durham University's colleges, including residences and a hall siutated around a central lake. The college buildings were built in the early 1960's, and the first students arrived in 1965, one of four new colleges built to house the influx of university students. The buildings were designed by Middleton, Fletcher and Partners of Middlesbrough, and consist of a dining hall and common area, against the north side of the lake, and four residential blocks on the east and west sides
