A 15-year old French boy executed as a German hostage, between 1940-43. Germans would kill innocent civilians, in revenge for French Resistance attacks on World War 2 German forces, sometimes at a ratio of 50 hostages for a German death. The photo was released by the U.S. Office of War Information during WW2. (BSLOC_2013_11_72)
