The ABLE test of Operation Crossroads, July 1, 1946. The bomb was dropped from a B-29 and detonated at 520 feet. It was the first nuclear explosion since the Nagasaki bomb of Aug. 9, 1945. ABLE had the force of 20, 000 tons of TNT. (BSLOC_2015_2_1)
