Admiral David Farragut, served in the US Navy
Admiral David Farragut, served in the US Navy from 1810 until his death in 1870. He fought in the War of 1812, the Mexican War, and the US Civil War. He was a Southern Unionist who commanded the Union fleet in the Battle of New Orleans in April 1862 and Battle of Mobile Bay August 1864. Photograph by Mathew Brady
