American Army headquarters in a fortified tunnel
American Army headquarters in a fortified tunnel on Corregidor, Philippine Islands, ca. March/April 1942. The tunnel was the last U.S. Headquarters after final Japanese conquest on May 6, 1942. The soldiers were with the Signal Corps, and would become POWS until the end of World War 2 in 1945, if they were lucky enough to survive Japanese camps. (BSLOC_2013_11_202)
