American Revolution, Battle of Bunker Hill
American Revolution, Battle of Bunker Hill (aka Breeds Hill), June 17, 1775. Ranks of British grenadiers advancing uphill into American gunfire. The first two British assaults failed, leaving the battlefield littered with hundreds of the dead and wounded. The third attack prevailed because the American ran out of Ammunition.
