American Revolution. Polish nobleman Casimir Pulaski travelled to North America to support the cause of the American War of Independence. In 1778 he created the Pulaski Cavalry Legion which fought in the American south. In Oct. 1779, he was mortally wounded in the Second Battle of Savannah
