Andrew Jackson, 7th President of the United States, held office from 1829 to 1837. Ralph E. W. Earl portrait of 1835 depicts Jackson in his military commander's dress. When Jackson became President, Earl established his residence and studio in the White house, and became known as the Court Painter, or Kings Painter (BSIC_2020_12_23)
