Auguste Piccard's balloon destroyed by fire, May 31, 1937. A stratosphere balloon, in which Prof. Auguste Piccard and Prof. Max Cosyns planned a test flight, exploded and was destroyed by fire as it was being inflated, near Brussels, Belgium. (CSU_2015_9_990)
