The BAKER test of Operation Crossroads, July 25
The BAKER test of Operation Crossroads, July 25, 1946. BAKER was exploded underwater, creating an underwater pressure of 1000 pounds per square inch. Operation Crossroads tested the effects of atomic weapons on ships at sea. The ABLE shot, detonated above the target was far less damaging than BAKER.
