Boeing XB-15 Flying Fortress in 1937. It was the only prototype of the experimental transport plane. It could carry heavy loads over long distances, but was too slow for combat bombing. However, the prototype was used in WW2 as a transport, and nicknamed Grandpappy by airmen. (BSLOC_2013_9_211)
