Before bleaching, the cotton fabric is passed over a red-hot Iron Plate, which burns off the ends of the fibers or nap, making the surface even for Printing. It goes through other processes, before it is put into a stone cistern filled with chloride of lime and water, which is called Bleaching Liquor. More processes follow, before it is dried in a hot stove
