Burial of the Native American victims of the Wounded
Burial of the Native American victims of the Wounded Knee Massacre, in Jan. 1891. The US Army contracted workers to collect the bodies, dig the mass grave pit, and to bury 146 bodies. The grave was dug on the same hill from which the artillery fired during the battle (BSLOC_2017_18_23)
