Caryl Chessman, sentenced to death on eighteen counts of robbery, kidnapping, and rape. He was convicted in 1948 and appealed his death sentence over the next decade. His autobiography, CELL 2455, DEATH ROW was made into a 1955 film directed by Fred F. Sears with William Campbell as Chessman. (CSU_2015_9_915)
