Of the 15, 000 Chinese living in San Francisco?s Chinatown most Chinese left for Oakland, with only 400 remaining in the city. The post-earthquake Committee on the Location of Chinatown allowed the re-building so not to lose tax revenues and Oriental trade (BSLOC_2017_17_34)
