US Civil War, Peninsula Campaign, Seven Days Battles, June 25-July 1, 1862. Wounded Union soldiers crowded in a field hospital at Savages Station, Virginia. The straw-hatted soldiers are from the Sixteenth New York Infantry who fought at Gaines Mill on June 27.
