Colonel Samuel Chiwale, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of UNITA, Feb. 1976. UNITA, National Union for the Total Independence of Angola was engaged in a civil war against the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA). In time it became Cold War proxy war with the USA and South Africa supporting UNITA. The fighting ended in 2002 with UNITA disarming. (CSU_2015_9_924)
