Confederate General, Nathan Bedford Forrest
Confederate General, Nathan Bedford Forrest, c. 1861-65, fought at the Battles of Fort Donelson and Shiloh in 1862. More notoriously, soldiers under his command troops massacred African American POWs at Fort Pillow on April 12, 1864. During the post US Civil War Reconstruction period, he was served as Grand Wizard of the KKK from 1867"1869, but claimed he broke away from the white supremacist group in 1869
