Congressman Clement Vallandigham of Ohio
Congressman Clement Vallandigham of Ohio, was a radical Copperhead during the US Civil War, 1861-63. Vallandigham lead the anti-war fight in Congress to obstruct the Union war effort. He was arrested in May 1863 for publically expressing sympathy with the enemy, and Lincoln ordered him deported to the Confederacy
